Flexible copper welding cable in 35, 50 and 70 sq mm with matched electrode holders for MMA stick welding — sold by the metre at Multi Trade Combines, AT Road, Guwahati.
Welding cable and electrode holder are the current-carrying consumable components of every MMA (stick) welding setup. Although less visible than the welding machine itself, they are the link between the machine's output terminals and the arc — and the quality of this link directly affects arc stability, weld quality and operator safety. Welding cable is a flexible copper conductor with robust, heat-resistant rubber insulation capable of withstanding the continuous flexing, heat and abrasion of a working welding shop. The electrode holder is the device that clamps the welding electrode at the working end of the cable and allows the operator to direct and control the arc.
Multi Trade Combines stocks welding cable in 35 sq mm, 50 sq mm and 70 sq mm cross-sections — the three sizes covering the full range from light-duty site welders at 150–200 A through to heavy-duty fabrication machines at 400 A and above. Cable is sold by the metre, allowing you to cut the exact length you need for a lead replacement or extension. Matching electrode holders rated to the cable and current are stocked alongside the cable. The earth clamp — the return current connection clamped to the work or table — is equally important and available from our Guwahati welding supplies counter.
In stock at Multi Trade Combines, AT Road, Guwahati — ships across NE India
Workshop welders and site-based welding contractors across Guwahati replace welding cables and holders regularly — cut insulation, burnt cable ends, damaged jaw mechanisms and worn-out holder springs are everyday consumable failures in a busy fabrication shop. The ability to buy the exact cable cross-section by the metre from our AT Road counter means a workshop can replace only the damaged section rather than the entire lead set, reducing cost and waste. For construction site welding across Northeast India's active infrastructure projects — bridge construction, building steel structures, pipeline fabrication — site welding supervisors need spare cables and holders on hand to avoid delays from consumable failures. Pairs with ESAB or other brand welding electrodes, welding gauge and welding rod oven — all available from Multi Trade Combines, Guwahati. We supply to workshops across Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

Welding cable cross-section must be matched to the maximum welding current your machine produces. As a guideline: 35 sq mm cable is suitable for welders up to approximately 250 A; 50 sq mm for up to 350 A; and 70 sq mm for heavy-duty applications at 400 A and above. Undersized cable creates resistive heating in the cable itself, causes voltage drop at the electrode that affects arc quality, and is a fire and insulation failure risk. Multi Trade Combines can advise on the correct cable size for your specific welder output. Call +91 91812 13332 for advice and stock availability.
A high-quality welding electrode holder must clamp the electrode securely at a range of insertion angles, make a reliable low-resistance electrical contact at the electrode shank, provide insulation that withstands the heat generated at the connection, and have a grip that allows precise control through a long welding session without hand fatigue. The jaw mechanism should open and close smoothly without sticking so electrode changes are quick. The holder must be rated at least to the maximum output current of the welder — using an underrated holder at full welding current will cause overheating and insulation breakdown.
