In 1993, the founding partner of Multi Trade Combines opened a small counter at Talukdar Complex on Assam Trunk Road, in the heart of Bhangagarh. The brief was simple: stock the tools and consumables the region's contractors, plumbers, electricians and fabricators kept asking for — and have them on the shelf the same day, not after a six-week wait from Calcutta or Delhi.
Three decades later, the shutter still goes up in the same complex and the same family still runs the counter. What's grown is the range. From welding electrodes and manual lifting tackle in the early years, the shop has stepped up — one authorised dealership at a time — into civil-lab instruments, Kirloskar pumps, BDS Maschinen magnetic drills, Shakti welders, KEAA garage tools, Loctite adhesives, Safelift slings and TECHMO wheel casters.
The job hasn't really changed. A site engineer walks in with a torn specification sheet, a workshop owner phones for a replacement bearing for a pump installed twelve years ago, an NHAI quality team needs an IS-marked cube mould before tomorrow's pour. We try to say yes, it's in stock, and when it isn't, we'll tell you exactly how many days it'll take and ring you back when it lands.

Formal dealership agreements begin — welding electrodes and manual lifting tackle. The shift from re-seller to authorised channel partner changes the conversation: warranty, spares, OEM-approved repair, all on record.
Expansion into civil-lab equipment and surveying instruments — total stations, theodolites, cube moulds, sieve sets — for the wave of North East infrastructure work taking off across NH-37 and Arunachal projects.
Becomes an authorised Kirloskar Brothers distributor for the region. V4 / V6 submersibles, monoblocks and dewatering pumps — sold with bench-tested spares and an in-house service bay.
Adds Shakti welding inverters, BDS Maschinen (Germany) magnetic drills and KEAA garage tools — pulling fabrication shops and automotive service bays onto the customer list.
Authorised Loctite (Henkel) adhesives & sealants and Safelift webbing slings join the line — making MTC a one-stop counter for maintenance & assembly trades alongside the heavy-tool customers.
The TECHMO India caster line and Alpha portable generator range come on board — closing the loop on workshop fit-outs from the lifting tackle on the wall to the genset on the trailer.
Multi Trade Combines crosses 33 years of continuous trading from the same complex on Assam Trunk Road. Same family at the counter, same phone number on the shutter, more of the catalogue actually on the shelf.
