Concrete Vibrator

Electric concrete vibrators with 25 mm, 40 mm and 60 mm needle heads compact fresh concrete and eliminate air voids in slabs, columns and foundations — Multi Trade Combines stocks them in Guwahati, price on request.

Product overview

Internal (immersion) concrete vibrators are essential on any structural concrete pour. Fresh concrete contains entrapped air bubbles that, if left in place, create honeycombing voids that reduce compressive strength and allow water ingress into reinforced sections. Vibration momentarily fluidises the concrete mix and allows air bubbles to rise and escape, while heavier aggregates settle to fill the voids. The result is denser, stronger, more durable concrete that meets IS 456 structural requirements.

The needle diameter is matched to the structural section and reinforcement spacing. Multi Trade Combines supplies vibrator sets with 25 mm, 40 mm and 60 mm needles, covering the range from precast thin panels to large mass-concrete footings. Electric motor units are available for grid-powered sites; petrol-driven poker sets are an option at remote sites — ask our team for availability.

Who uses this in Northeast India

Civil contractors on government road and bridge projects in Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland use concrete vibrators as mandatory equipment under PWD specifications. Residential apartment builders in Guwahati's expanding peripheral areas (Kahilipara, Beltola, Hatigaon) use vibrators on every floor slab. Dam and hydroelectric project concrete crews in Arunachal Pradesh work with the 60 mm needle for mass-pour foundations. Precast concrete product manufacturers in Guwahati's industrial areas use the 25 mm needle for compound wall slabs, drain covers and paver blocks.

What it pairs with

A concrete vibrator is only one part of a productive concrete crew kit. Pair it with a concrete mixer (half-bag or one-bag, available from Multi Trade Combines) and a bar bending and bar cutting machine for rebar work. For quality control, the cube mould and compression testing machine in our civil lab range verify the concrete strength actually achieved after vibration. On remote sites without grid power, the Alpha A6000 diesel generator from our Generators range powers the vibrator motor reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which needle size should I use for column and slab pours?

Needle diameter determines vibration radius: a 25 mm needle has an effective radius of about 150 mm and is used in thin sections, precast elements and congested reinforcement areas where a larger needle cannot fit between bars. The 40 mm needle is the most versatile — it suits column pours, wall pours and general slab work with standard rebar spacing. The 60 mm needle is used for mass concrete pours such as footings, raft slabs and retaining walls where vibration coverage per insertion point is more important than maneuverability. IS 456 recommends re-vibrating every 40–50 cm horizontally and withdrawing slowly at 80 mm per second.

Can I use the same motor unit with different needle sizes?

Most electric internal vibrator systems are sold as a motor-and-flexible-shaft unit that accepts interchangeable needle heads. Check the coupling type (typically a quick-connect collar) when ordering to confirm compatibility. Multi Trade Combines can advise on which motor units we stock and what needle sizes they accept. For very high-frequency vibration requirements on self-compacting concrete or very dense mixes, let our team know the mix design so we can recommend the appropriate frequency range.
