Compression Testing Machines at 1000, 2000 and 3000 kN capacity — used to verify concrete cube and cylinder strength in civil labs — are in stock at Multi Trade Combines, Guwahati, price on request.
A Compression Testing Machine (CTM) is the central instrument in any concrete quality-control lab. It applies a controlled compressive load to test specimens — typically 150 mm concrete cubes or 150×300 mm cylinders — and records the failure load, from which compressive strength is calculated per IS 516 and IS 1199 procedures. Multi Trade Combines stocks CTMs at three capacities: 1000 kN, 2000 kN and 3000 kN, covering the full range from site QC labs at construction projects to accredited testing laboratories at research institutions.
The machines are supplied with digital load indicators, auto-release valves that arrest the ram at specimen failure, and sturdy welded steel frames designed to absorb the sudden energy release at fracture. All models accept standard 150 mm cube specimens directly; optional platens and spacers allow cylinder testing.
Government PWD labs in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh use CTMs for acceptance testing of bridges, roads and government building projects. Private construction firms running large residential or commercial projects in Guwahati maintain their own site labs to reduce turnaround time compared to sending cubes to a shared facility. Polytechnic colleges and engineering colleges in the Northeast stock CTMs for student practicals under AICTE lab guidelines. NHIDCL and NHPC project labs for Northeast highway and hydro projects are also regular buyers.
A complete cube-testing workflow also requires cube moulds (Multi Trade Combines stocks IS 10086-certified 150 mm cast-iron and PVC cube moulds), a vibrating table for compaction during casting, and a curing water tank. Our civil lab equipment range covers all these items, allowing you to kit out a new site lab from one supplier in Guwahati without coordinating multiple vendors.

More from our Civil Lab Equipment range
For standard IS 456 concrete grades up to M40, a 1000 kN (100-tonne) machine handles 150 mm cubes comfortably. High-strength concrete projects such as flyover piers and dam shuttering using M60 or above benefit from 2000 kN capacity to avoid load-cell saturation. The 3000 kN machine is specified by central-government NABL-accredited labs and large dam-project labs where multiple specimen types including cylinder cores and beam specimens must be tested on the same frame.
The machines are dispatched with a manufacturer-issued test certificate. For NABL acceptance, an independent third-party calibration from a NABL-accredited lab is required — we can refer you to accredited calibration agencies in Guwahati. Routine re-calibration is typically required annually and can be arranged through the manufacturer's service network, which we support from Guwahati.
