Cube Mould (Cast Iron) Non-ISI

A cast-iron 150 mm concrete cube mould in the economical non-ISI variant — suitable for trial mixes, training labs, and internal QC work — stocked by Multi Trade Combines in Guwahati, price on request.

About the Cast-Iron Cube Mould (Non-ISI)

The 150 × 150 × 150 mm cast-iron cube mould is the standard specimen container used to cast and cure concrete cubes for compressive strength testing. This non-ISI variant is identical in basic dimensions to the IS 10086 pattern but does not carry the Bureau of Indian Standards certification mark.

For construction firms working on private projects — residential buildings, private industrial sheds, farm structures — the non-ISI mould is a practical and affordable choice for routine in-house quality monitoring without the premium cost of certified moulds. PWD contractors and government-project sites must use the ISI-marked version (also available at Multi Trade Combines) for any specimen submitted to accredited testing labs.

Civil engineering colleges and ITI labs in Guwahati, Tezpur, and Jorhat stock non-ISI moulds for student practicals where the certification marking is not relevant. Small contractors across Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh who run their own site labs use them for daily slump and cube checks to manage water-cement ratio and catch batch inconsistencies before they become structural problems.

The cast-iron construction is more rigid and durable than PVC alternatives, giving consistent internal geometry across hundreds of casting cycles. The mould opens along a single vertical joint and sits on a flat base plate; after casting and initial set, the base plate is removed and the specimen stripped for water curing in a tank or damp room.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between ISI and non-ISI cube moulds?

ISI-marked cube moulds (conforming to IS 10086) are calibrated, third-party inspected, and their dimensions are certified to tight tolerances — mandatory for contractual concrete cube tests submitted to government labs and PWD. Non-ISI moulds are dimensionally similar but lack the certification mark; they are used for in-house trial batches, training purposes, and private sites where official IS-marked test results are not required.

Can I use a 150 mm cube mould with any concrete mixer?

Yes. The 150 mm cube mould is the standard size for M15 to M40 concrete in IS 10262. Fill it in two or three layers, rod-compact each layer 25 times, and cure the specimen at 27±2°C before testing. The mould clamps shut with its wing nuts and a base plate; no additional frame is needed.
