Who Needs This Kit?

Every construction contractor executing concrete structures — whether it is a residential building, a bridge deck, a retaining wall or a factory floor — is legally and contractually required to test the compressive strength of concrete batches on site. Quality control engineers, site supervisors and civil lab technicians across Assam and Northeast India use cube moulds and vibrating tables to cast, cure and submit concrete cube samples for testing. This kit covers the essential equipment for a site concrete test lab that meets IS code requirements.

Why Each Item Matters in Concrete Quality Control

Cast Iron Cube Moulds (ISI Marked) are the standard for concrete compressive strength testing per IS 516. The 150 mm cast iron cube mould is the most widely used size for M20 and above grade concrete testing, mandatory under most government and private project specifications. ISI-marked moulds give assurance that internal dimensions and flatness are within tolerances, so that cube results are comparable between batches and acceptable to third-party testing labs. Cast iron moulds last for hundreds of casting cycles if properly cleaned and oiled after each use.

PVC Cube Moulds offer a lightweight, portable and disposable-friendly alternative to cast iron for site labs that cast large numbers of cubes at peak construction stages. PVC moulds are quick to demould, easy to clean and resistant to the alkali-rich concrete environment. They are popular with contractors running multiple pours in a single day, where having enough moulds available is as important as accuracy. Many sites use PVC moulds for routine batch checks and reserve the cast iron ISI-marked set for formal compliance tests.

The Concrete Vibrating Table is essential for achieving proper compaction of fresh concrete in moulds. Manual tamping with a rod (as specified in older IS code versions) can leave voids, especially in stiff or high-strength mixes used in modern construction. A vibrating table applies consistent compaction energy to every cube simultaneously, giving results that are more repeatable and closer to the true strength of the mix. For site labs casting ten or more cubes per pour, a vibrating table saves significant time and eliminates operator variation.

How the Items Work Together on Site

The process is straightforward: collect a fresh concrete sample from the transit mixer or batching plant, fill the cube moulds in two layers, compact using the vibrating table, strike off the top surface level and leave to set under damp hessian for 24 hours. Demould, mark and submerge in a water curing tank for 7 days or 28 days. Send to the testing lab for compressive strength. The cast iron ISI-marked moulds go to the formal testing cycle; PVC moulds handle the interim checks. The vibrating table ensures every cube in the set gets the same compaction energy.

Multi Trade Combines stocks all three items at our AT Road counter in Guwahati. Site engineers placing an order before project commencement can receive the full kit well ahead of the first concrete pour, with shipment available across Northeast India.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy the cube moulds and vibrating table individually?

Yes. Cast iron moulds, PVC moulds and the vibrating table are all stocked separately. You can order as few as two or three moulds for a small site or a full set of twelve for a busy pour schedule. Call +91 91812 13332 to check current stock.

Do you deliver civil lab equipment outside Guwahati?

We regularly ship cube moulds and vibrating tables to project sites across Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and the wider Northeast. WhatsApp us at wa.me/917635998826 for a freight quote to your site location.

Are the cast iron moulds ISI-marked as required by IS 516?

Yes. The cast iron cube moulds we stock are ISI-marked, meeting IS 10086 dimensional requirements for concrete cube testing as per IS 516. They are suitable for formal compliance testing under government and private project contracts.
