TAPARIA double-ended (DE) open jaw spanners in drop-forged chrome-vanadium steel, covering 6–32 mm — authorised Taparia dealer Multi Trade Combines stocks these at AT Road, Guwahati, price on request.
A double-ended (DE) open-jaw spanner set is one of the most fundamental items in any mechanic's or maintenance technician's tool kit. Each spanner in the set has two open jaws — one at each end — each sized to a different wrench size across flats (A/F). The Taparia DE set covers the most-used industrial and automotive fastener range from 6 mm A/F up to 32 mm A/F.
Taparia Tools Limited is India's largest professional hand tool manufacturer, headquartered in Mumbai with over five decades of production. Taparia spanners are made from drop-forged chrome-vanadium (CrV) steel — heat-treated to the hardness required for professional trade use. They carry the ISI mark (BIS certification) confirming conformance to IS 1364 and related standards.
Multi Trade Combines is an authorised Taparia dealer in Guwahati, stocking the full DE spanner range at our AT Road counter.

A complete professional hand-tool kit includes:
A double-ended (DE) open-jaw spanner has an open U-shaped jaw at each end — one jaw per size. It grips two flat faces of a hexagonal fastener. You can slip it on sideways without removing the tool from the space above, which makes it fast for light to medium torque work. A ring spanner has a closed ring at each end that grips all six faces of the nut or bolt head — it cannot slip off, transmits higher torque and is better for tight or rusted fasteners. Most tradespeople use both: DE spanners for quick jobs, ring spanners for high-torque and stubborn fasteners.
Taparia DE spanners are drop-forged from chrome-vanadium (CrV) alloy steel — the same manufacturing process used by Stanley, Gedore and other international professional hand tool brands. Drop forging aligns the grain structure of the steel along the tool's shape, producing superior strength and impact resistance compared to casting. A cast spanner can crack or shatter under high torque or impact; a drop-forged CrV spanner will bend before it breaks, giving the user a warning rather than sudden failure. This matters for professional trades — a spanner failure on a rusted bolt can cause injury.
