Hydraulic foldable engine crane — lift and transfer 2-tonne engines and heavy assemblies safely in any vehicle workshop.
The KEAA 2 Ton Foldable Engine Crane is a hydraulic shop crane designed to lift engines, gearboxes, large motors, and heavy sub-assemblies from vehicles or industrial machines in a workshop environment. It uses a single hydraulic ram to raise and lower the boom, controlled by a hand pump lever. The adjustable boom arm provides variable reach positions to match the load geometry and crane capacity. The foldable leg design collapses the crane to a compact footprint that fits through a standard workshop door and stores along a wall when not in use.
Vehicle workshops across Northeast India — from multi-bay service centres in Guwahati's Bhangagarh and Lokhra areas to small roadside garages in Nagaon, Tezpur and Jorhat — use engine cranes to pull commercial vehicle engines (Tata, Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz) for overhaul, and to install rebuilt engines back into chassis without the dangerous manual handling and improvised lifting rigs that cause serious workshop injuries every year.
Authorised and independent vehicle service workshops are the main users — engine removal and installation is a routine job in commercial vehicle maintenance. Industrial maintenance teams use engine cranes to lift motors from pump sets, compressors, and conveyor drives for rewinding and refitting. Tea estate machinery workshops in Upper Assam use them for tractor and field machine engine overhauls. Generator servicing technicians use them to lift generator alternator sets from skid mounts.
The crane pairs well with the KEAA 10 Ton hydraulic workshop press for press-fit bearing and bushing work, with the KEAA 4 Ton low-profile jack for vehicle support during engine removal, and with workshop engine stands that hold the removed engine securely at working height. All are available from our Garage & Automation range at Multi Trade Combines, Guwahati.

A foldable engine crane (also called a cherry picker or shop crane) has hinged boom arms and collapsible legs that allow it to be folded flat for storage or transport in a van or pickup. A fixed gantry crane or workshop beam is permanently installed and cannot be moved between sites. The KEAA 2 Ton foldable crane is designed for workshops and garages that need heavy lifting capability on demand but cannot dedicate permanent overhead structure to a gantry — common in smaller vehicle workshops in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, and Jorhat where space is at a premium.
Engine crane capacities are rated at minimum boom extension. At maximum horizontal reach (longest boom position), the safe working load drops significantly — typically to 500 kg or 750 kg for a crane rated 2 tonnes at minimum reach. Always check the load chart on the crane body before lifting. For an engine block weighing 250–400 kg (typical car or light commercial engine), the crane should be operated at minimum boom extension whenever possible for maximum safety margin. The KEAA 2T has been cross-verified at 75 kg for its load rating markings.
