The Bosch GBH 2-26 RE is a three-mode SDS-plus rotary hammer — drilling, hammer-drilling and chiselling — powered by an 800-watt motor capable of sinking 26 mm holes through reinforced concrete without overheating. The SDS-plus chuck accepts all standard SDS-plus bits and chisels without a separate adapter: insert, twist, and it locks in seconds. The electro-pneumatic hammer mechanism delivers 2.7 joules of impact energy at up to 4 000 beats per minute, letting the bit do the work through hard Assam granite fills and RCC columns alike.
The rotary-only mode allows precise drilling in steel and timber, while chisel mode (rotation off) handles mortar removal, tile breaking and channel cutting in brick walls. Yes. With the correct SDS-plus carbide-tipped masonry bit the GBH 2-26 RE drills through granite, quartzite and hard laterite effectively. For very hard natural stone a larger hammer (GBH 3-28, GBH 4-32) may be faster, but the 2-26 RE handles most site granite work well.
