Mitutoyo-style dial bore gauge covering 18–150 mm for engine cylinder, bearing housing and hydraulic cylinder internal diameter measurement — in stock at Multi Trade Combines, AT Road, Guwahati.
A bore gauge is the instrument of choice for accurately measuring the internal diameter of cylindrical bores in engineering workshops. Unlike a vernier caliper or inside micrometer, a bore gauge uses a dial indicator to display the deviation from a set master dimension, allowing the operator to detect even small variations in bore diameter with consistent accuracy and speed — particularly important when measuring multiple cylinder bores on an engine block or checking a batch of machined housings against a tolerance specification.
The Mitutoyo-style bore gauge in the 18–150 mm range covers virtually the entire spectrum of cylinder bores encountered in automotive engine reconditioning in Northeast India: two-wheeler and three-wheeler engines at 50–80 mm, passenger vehicle petrol engines at 70–90 mm, light diesel engine cylinders at 80–105 mm, and heavy commercial vehicle engines such as the BS VI trucks operating on NH-27 and NH-37 at 110–150 mm. Bearing housing bores, hydraulic cylinder internal diameters and precision machined features in pump bodies and valve blocks are equally within this range. Multi Trade Combines stocks the bore gauge set at our AT Road, Guwahati measuring instruments counter alongside outside micrometers, inside micrometers and dial gauges for a complete workshop measurement kit.

Guwahati's engine reconditioning sector — the machine shops on GS Road, Zoo Road and Beltola that recondition diesel and petrol engines for Assam's large commercial and private vehicle fleet — relies on accurate bore measurement as the entry point to every reboring decision. A technician who bores a cylinder without first accurately measuring the existing diameter, wear profile and ovality cannot select the correct oversize piston or confirm that the bore centre is true. The result is wasted material and repeat work. Paired with an outside micrometer used as the setting master, the bore gauge gives the engine machinist a fast and reliable measurement system. Agricultural machinery workshops in Assam's farming districts and hydraulic repair shops servicing JCB and earthmoving equipment also need bore gauges for cylinder wear inspection. Multi Trade Combines supplies measuring instruments to workshops and quality labs across the Northeast from our Guwahati counter.

A bore gauge (internal measuring gauge) is used to measure the internal diameter of cylinder bores, bearing housings, valve guide bores and any other cylindrical internal feature. In engine reconditioning, the bore gauge checks each cylinder for wear, ovality (out-of-round) and taper — the difference in diameter from top to bottom of the cylinder. These measurements determine whether a cylinder needs reboring and what oversize piston to fit. An outside micrometer is used to set the bore gauge to the nominal dimension before measurement. The bore gauge range available from Multi Trade Combines covers 18 mm to 150 mm internal diameter, which encompasses the vast majority of automotive cylinder bores (from small motorcycle engines at around 50 mm to large diesel engines at 130–150 mm bore), hydraulic cylinder internal diameters and bearing housing bores. Extension rods expand the range for larger bores on request. WhatsApp +91 76359 98826 for current stock confirmation.
