BDS MAB 525SB electromagnetic base drill and tap — 60 mm core capacity with swivel base for structural steel fabrication. In stock at Multi Trade Combines, Guwahati.
The BDS MAB 525SB is a professional electromagnetic base drill and tapping machine for structural steel fabrication. Where a conventional drill press requires the workpiece to be brought to the machine, the MAB 525SB goes to the workpiece — attaching magnetically to the steel surface and drilling precision core holes up to 60 mm diameter without needing clamping, marking-out of a circle, or pilot drilling. The annular cutter (also called a broach cutter) removes a thin core of material rather than converting the full hole to swarf, making it far faster and generating far less heat than a twist drill of the same diameter. Large bolted connections in structural steel — 20 mm, 24 mm and 28 mm hole sizes for high-strength bolts — are drilled in seconds per hole rather than minutes.
The swivel base is a key feature for fabrication work: it allows the drill head to be angled relative to the base, enabling drilling at angles for diagonal bracing connections, slotted bolt holes and underside drilling on beams. The integrated tapping function adds thread-cutting capability for connections that use screwed fittings. BDS tools are recognised quality in the structural steel and mechanical engineering sector. Multi Trade Combines stocks BDS drilling and bevelling machines at our AT Road, Guwahati counter — the supply point for Northeast India's growing structural steel fabrication industry.
In stock at Multi Trade Combines, AT Road, Guwahati — ships across Northeast India
Structural steel fabricators in Guwahati's industrial estates — supplying steel buildings, industrial sheds, bridges, towers and plant structures across Assam and the Northeast — use magnetic drills on large plates and sections that cannot be moved to a radial arm drill press. Steel bridge fabricators working on rail and road bridges over the Brahmaputra and its tributaries need magnetic drill capacity for on-site bolt-hole correction and fitting work. Pipeline fabricators, pressure vessel shops and process plant contractors all encounter situations where a portable magnetic drill is the only practical way to drill an accurate large-diameter hole in a fixed or heavy component. Paired with BDS bevelling machines — the EKF 645 and SKF 25 portable beveller for weld-edge preparation — the MAB 525SB completes a BDS tooling set for full steel preparation and drilling capability from our Guwahati counter.

The BDS MAB 525SB is a magnetic base drilling and tapping machine used to drill large-diameter core holes and cut tapped threads in structural steel — I-beams, plates, flanges, columns and pipework — directly on the workpiece without moving it to a drill press. The magnetic base holds the machine firmly to the steel surface. The 60 mm core drill capacity handles the large-diameter holes required for bolt connections in structural steel. The swivel base allows angular drilling. Call +91 91812 13332 for stock.
The MAB 525SB drills core holes up to 60 mm diameter and to a depth of approximately 55 mm using annular cutters (broach cutters). It also taps threads using the integrated tapping head. The swivel base allows drilling at angles other than 90 degrees to the plate surface, useful for connecting plates and gussets.
