From the 670 W GWS 600 to the 2,200 W heavy-duty grinder — authorised Bosch dealer advice on matching the right model to your job in Assam and NE India.
As an authorised Bosch dealer in Guwahati, we have sold Bosch angle grinders since the early 2000s. This guide covers the real differences between models — not marketing copy.
| Bosch GWS 600 | 670 W, 100 mm (4"), 11,000 RPM — lightest, compact, site contractor favourite. Budget-friendly, BIS-certified, M14 spindle. |
|---|---|
| Bosch GWS 6-125 | 670 W (input), 125 mm (5"), 11,000 RPM — same motor, larger wheel. Ideal for surface grinding and flap-disc finishing. |
| Bosch GWS 900-100 | 900 W, 100 mm — more power for harder materials, tougher concrete, continuous use. Mid-tier upgrade. |
| Bosch GWS 2200-180 | 2,200 W, 180 mm — heavy fabrication, structural steel, high-volume production grinding. Three-phase equivalent power in single-phase. |
| Bosch GWS 22-230 | 2,200 W, 230 mm — largest disc size for heavy structural grinding. Fabrication yards, steel plants. |
The right model depends on what you actually do:
Bosch sells two product lines:
Always confirm you are buying the blue (Professional) version. The product code is the clearest indicator — "GWS" prefixes are Bosch Professional.
Angle grinders are one of the most dangerous handheld tools when misused. After 33 years at the counter, these are the most common mistakes we see:
We stock a full range of Bosch and compatible angle grinder accessories at our Guwahati counter:
Genuine Bosch tools carry a BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification mark, an authorised dealer hologram sticker, and a serial number that can be verified on the Bosch India website. All Bosch tools sold at Multi Trade Combines are sourced from the authorised Bosch India distribution chain — we do not stock grey-market or parallel imports. Counterfeit Bosch tools are common in unorganised markets — the price is usually the giveaway, well below the fixed authorised dealer price.
Bosch professional (blue) power tools come with a standard 1-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects when purchased from an authorised dealer. Keep your invoice as the warranty document. Service at our AT Road Guwahati counter or at Bosch's regional service centre. Extended service plans may be available — ask our counter team.
Yes, with the correct diamond blade. The GWS 600 (100 mm) and GWS 6-125 (125 mm) accept standard M14 diamond blades for tile and stone cutting. Do NOT use a metal cutting disc on tile or stone. Keep the blade cool with intermittent cuts and do not press hard — let the blade do the work. For production tile cutting, a dedicated tile cutter is more precise; for occasional cuts on site, the angle grinder with a diamond blade is perfectly practical.
